Last night was electrifying at the old Stanford Hangar as (CPM) revealed their lineup of new Hyundai Electric Vehicles.
The atmosphere was buzzing as distinguished guests such as Environment Minister Sir Molwyn Joseph, Energy Minister Melford Nicholas, and other notable figures gathered for this groundbreaking event.
It was an honor to witness the unveiling alongside members of parliament, Environment Ambassador Ruleta Camacho-Thomas, and Ambassador Patrice Luke. Even the 2024 Queen of Carnival delegates were part of the excitement.
The Hadeed Family, owners of CPM, and their team were all smiles as they presented the innovative electric vehicles, emphasizing the positive impact on our environment. Ministers Joseph and Nicholas expressed their support, highlighting the government’s commitment to phasing out fuel-powered vehicles by 2035 in favor of electric ones.
The CPM team, led by Director Taylor Hadeed, wowed the crowd with details about the vehicles’ impressive 400-kilometer range per charge and the convenience of overnight charging. Their passion for this eco-friendly initiative was truly contagious.
The Cabinet also commended CPM for bringing this cutting-edge technology to Antigua and Barbuda. The new EVs will not only contribute to a greener environment, but they will also benefit from waived duties and taxes, making them even more desirable for the residents.
It’s an exciting time for our country as we embrace the future of clean and sustainable transportation. The streets of Antigua and Barbuda are about to get a whole lot greener!
