Four people are in police custody assisting with investigations, after they were found in possession of firearms and ammunition.

The police executed a search warrant at a business place at Newfield around 7:00 am on Wednesday, and seized several firearms and ammunition. Four persons were taken into custody as a result.

This major operation is one of several heightened security measures being implemented by the police to rid the streets of illegal firearms and ammunition.

The public is urged to continue supporting the efforts of the police as they work toward keeping Antigua and Barbuda safe. Further investigations are ongoing into the matter.
