The sentencing of Tedson Knowles, convicted of murdering his girlfriend Carissa Chandler, has been rescheduled.
This latest delay comes as Knowles’ attorney requested time to review a victim impact report, a crucial document in determining the appropriate sentence.
The case, which has gripped the community since 2019, reached a pivotal moment last month when a jury found Knowles guilty of the fatal shooting.
The incident, described by prosecutors as a domestic dispute gone tragically wrong, occurred on May 23, 2019, in the couple’s shared residence in New Winthorpes.
During the trial, the court heard testimony from neighbours who described a sequence of events on the day of the murder.
Medical evidence presented in court painted a picture of Chandler’s final moments. A doctor testified that the victim suffered massive blood loss from a close-range gunshot wound to her chest, ultimately leading to her untimely death.
Knowles is now set to be sentenced on for July 31.
