Louis Barry of Bendals will be spending the next 36 months behind bars at His Majesty’s Prison.

The 22-year-old appeared in the Magistrate’s Court on Friday, charged with unlawful possession of one .38 Taurus Revolver and four .38 rounds of ammunition.

He pleaded guilty to both charges and was sentenced to 18 months for possession of the illegal weapon and 6 months for the ammunition, which will run concurrently. He was further sentenced to an additional 18 months for defaulting on outstanding fines from a previous conviction.

On August 7, the police executed several search warrants on different properties, including that of the convicted man. The illegal weapon was found in his possession and he was taken into custody. Magistrate Hamilton Jr presided over the matter.
