Dave Henry, a repeat offender with an extensive criminal record, has been sentenced to one year in prison for a series of thefts committed shortly after his release from jail in May.
The Antiguan courts handed down the sentence following two separate incidents of shoplifting that occurred in June.
On June 4, Henry was caught stealing eight bucket hats from a store on All Saints Road. Just two weeks later, on June 19, security cameras at Little Canton Supermarket on High Street recorded him pilfering five jars of peanut butter – three Swiss and two Promos brand.
These thefts were particularly egregious given Henry’s history. Having just been released from jail in May, he quickly reverted to his criminal behaviour.
In light of his repeat offenses, the court imposed a sentence of six months for each charge of larceny, to be served consecutively, resulting in a total of one year imprisonment.
This is what I like to see.. I’d say this is very fair for this crime.
Only ONE year? Heaven help us all!
one year? what sense this even make? let me know chpppsssssss
what kinda court system is in place? lmao
The operative word here is, “SERIAL!” This means this guy is a repeat offender, and the likelihood of recidivism is quite high! With a straight face, THEY GAVE HIM A MEASELY ONE YEAR SENTENCE!! Are you kidding me????! It is obvious that our judicial system is failing us!!!🤷🤦😡
Its basically 6 montgs per robbery. He can make a living from this. He can rob an when he gets caught he spends a vacatuon behind bars. Then back to work after gets baxk out
