Franchesca Sterling

Antigua and Barbuda congratulates another national on the successful completion of their studies abroad.

Franchesca Sterling, 32, recently completed her studies in International Politics in Hamburg, Germany, on August 26, 2024. She was one of 55 participants from 32 countries and the only participant from the Caribbean.

Sterling was recommended for the program by the Secretary-General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro, having served as his advisor in areas such as Caribbean Community (CARICOM) affairs, climate change, reparatory justice, and more.

Sterling was also the chief author of the OAS Climate Change Report and has served as an observer for the 2022 general elections in St. Kitts and Nevis and as a political finance specialist in Dominica during their 2022 general elections.

The prestigious Bucerius Summer Program in Global Governance, which Sterling attended, is designed for young professionals in fields such as law, politics, and other areas of international interest. It covered various topics under this year’s theme, “Threats of a Bipolar World.”

Sterling described the program as an invaluable opportunity to explore current international issues with some of the finest global thinkers and young professionals like herself who are engaged in international relations.
