Members will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of impactful activities, including but not limited to the following:

Mangrove Tours, Restoration, and Replanting: Nature Rangers  take part in hands-on conservation work in the North East Marine Management Area (NEMMA), which is Antigua and Barbuda’s largest environmentally protected area. It includes communities like Parham, Pares, Glanvilles, and Seatons.

The NEMMA is home to many of Antigua and Barbuda’s coral reefs, fringing mangroves and seagrass beds that support a wide variety of marine life and biodiversity. Nature Rangers will be able to contribute to things such as the restoration and preservation of vital mangrove ecosystems.

Clean-Ups & Other Collaborations: Partnering with the Fitches Creek Residents Association (FCRA), Good Humans 268, and other Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), the Nature Rangers organize and participate in clean-up efforts across the island, promoting environmental health and sustainability.

Skill Training and Development: Members will also receive training in organizational development, digital media, communications, and leadership skills, preparing them to take on active roles in the community.

Participation in a Weekly Radio Show: The Nature Rangers are planning a weekly segment in a local radio show that will focus on topics that impact youth and the environment, and will provide a platform for discussion, awareness, and engagement on critical environmental issues.

Members will have the opportunity to develop critical communication skills that prepares them for future leadership roles, and better connects them to their communities.
