Damani Tabor, the Public Relations Officer for the United Progressive Party (UPP), has tendered his immediate resignation from the party.
Tabor communicated his decision through a formal letter addressed to the UPP’s General Secretary on September 23, 2024.
In his resignation letter, Tabor stated, “I write to inform you that I’m tendering my resignation from the United Progressive Party with immediate effect.” He explained that his decision was not made lightly, but after careful consideration of various factors affecting the party’s current state.
Tabor cited concerns about the UPP’s future, writing, “I have come to this decision, unencumbered by the sunk cost fallacy, after weighing a multiplicity of factors and developments which critically impact the cohesion, performance and political viability of the Party.”
Despite his departure, Tabor expressed gratitude for his time with the UPP, noting, “I reflect with gratitude on the opportunity to have served in several capacities within the branch, executive and parliamentary domains.”
He specifically mentioned his roles in the 2023 Campaign Management Committee and the St. Mary’s South By-Election Strategy Team as “particularly instructive and skill-refining.”
The resignation letter also included details about the transfer of intellectual property, including instructions for the party to take over the management of the Real News website.
Tabor concluded his letter on a note of hope for Antigua and Barbuda’s political landscape: “Maintaining a healthy democracy is critical to nation-building. I am therefore hopeful, like most Antiguan & Barbudan citizens and residents, that a viable Opposition continues to be a part of our political landscape.”
This resignation marks the latest in a series of departures from the UPP, raising questions about the party’s future and its role in the country’s opposition.
Well.well well well well. This is the sixth resignation since Smith.
Another one bites the dust! And another one bites the dust and another one and another one. He nar look good tarl ttarl
Y’all joking lol! Lol wait. Is not two months ago Smith resign? Ah joke this man!
If my memory serves me correct yes lol! Captain the ship is sinking. Captain the season are rough.
I hope that there is no pappyshow rejoicing in the ABLP camp over this latest announcement! This series of resignations should be greeted by a mere “hmmmm” by serious ABLP hierarchy, members and supporters, many of whom have become ego-struck, naive, complacent and just ripe for exploitation. It seems clear from what has happened that many members and supporters of the UPP are just fed-up with the leadership of the party by Gisele Isaac and her boy-toy Jamale Pringle, both of whom are lacking in serious academic qualifications and leadership acumen. But do not be fooled, as the populace often is. What is happening in the UPP, deserves no more than a “hmmmm”. Don’t allow them into the inner sanctum of the ABLP Organization. Let them go ahead and form a new Opposition Party, which clearly seems to be their immediate goal. Carefully watch the newly converted and those recent defectors whose assignment might be to play on the unsuspecting vulnerable minds of many ABLP members and supporters. As the late Hon. D.C.Christian frequently reminded the ABLP faithful, ” You’ve got to watch the ball on to the bat”!!
Yes 💯. As usual you on the ball.
Come Dimani! Come and replace Hurst. We need a young gun like you. You can do it 😂! Gaston playing Chess while UPP playing snake and the ladder.
Pringl do the responsible thiñg, À kingdom divided can’t stand
D Gisele probably sit down smiling saying this one never did anything really. Nobody good enough for her lol. Smh
lol a she one do everything good and right! What a pompous, arrogant human being
Better he just go and be Smith spokesman. Why don’t all the UPP discards just form their own party?
Yall are a bunch of loosers. Destroying a party because you hate Pringle? Do you know how many people can’t stand gaston in Cabinet? In the public they pretend to be united. That’s the difference between UPP and labour
