Border security officials receive training in drone operation

Police and Defence force Officers and officials from the National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) spent the better part of the week receiving training receiving training aimed at equipping them with essential skills for integrating drones into military and peacekeeping operations across Antigua and Barbuda.

The week-long Drone Pilot and Operations Training programme was launched on Monday following a brief ceremony at the Sir Wright F George Academy. It is in partnership with Aerodrome UAS Solutions.

Notable attendees included Chief of Defence Staff Brigadier General Telbert Benjamin, Force Sergeant Major Warrant Officer Class 1 Jeff Lawrence, Commissioner of Police Atlee Rodney alongside Deputy Commissioner of Police, Everton Jeffers and Calvin Browne from the ONDCP.

Led by Giovanni Ruiz and Stuart De La Rosa, the training combines theoretical knowledge with practical field sessions.

Both Brigadier General Benjamin and Commissioner of Police Atlee Rodney expressed their gratitude for the training and the promising partnership with Aerodrome UAS Solutions, which enhances the capabilities of ABDF and RPFAB in safeguarding our nation.
