Rare Rash Outbreak Reported at Two Primary Schools in Antigua

27 November 2024 - 20:25

Two schools on the island are currently dealing with what seems to be an outbreak of a rare rash affecting students.

Potters Primary School has taken the step of notifying parents about the situation.

They’ve observed that some students arrive at school with unusual rashes and open sores that are not typical cuts or scrapes.

In their communication with parents, the school emphasized that this issue is concerning, particularly because of the close interactions between students and teachers.

“Should you notice any rashes,  open sores, or ringworm on their skin, please do not send them to school. Rather, take them to the doctor. Note as well that they should not return to school  without a note from a doctor to state that they pose no danger to anyone else at the school,” the statement said

The rare rash has been reported at another primary school in the St George parish

Editors Note: About eight children at Potters Primary presented with the rash. The skin disease appears to be contagious and they have not indentified what rash it is just yet. We will provide details when it becomes available.

    • and he will save us to the point that he will even save you from your dumb thoughts. If you’d read your bible you’d see who God saved from leprosy, the dead he call forth. You’re like David in the lions den. You’re like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace just that you’re without the faith. But he will still save you from your thoughts.
