The kitchen staff at the Wild Tamarind have taken the courageous step of reaching out to the media, hoping that their heartfelt appeal will draw attention to the ongoing abuse they allegedly endure at the hands of their supervisor.
According to the employees, they find themselves demoralized by the relentless mistreatment from a man described as Caucasian, whose management style has created a toxic work environment.
“There are six cooks, and our workload is overwhelming,” one staff member shared, speaking on the condition of anonymity. “He constantly hurls insults at us and often displays a verbally aggressive demeanor. We are forced to work long hours for minimal pay, with management refusing to hire any additional help.”
The situation is particularly distressing for some of the waitresses, who endure such cruel treatment that it drives them to tears. While the staff is tasked with preparing meals for residents at the Tamarind Hill Villas, they are also responsible for fulfilling outside catering orders, which only adds to their burden.
Amidst this heavy workload, the staff are allotted a mere half-hour break, a time that is often interrupted and does not include any form of compensation.
Currently, the employees are not unionized, but they are actively planning to organize. Reports indicate that many are calling in sick, even when they are perfectly healthy, to avoid coming to work.
“Some of us feel so beaten down that we tell our supervisors we’re unwell, even when we don’t have any illness,” another worker explained. “Most days, we simply dread coming to work.”
Attempts to reach the individual in question proved futile.

Wild things happen at Wild Tamarine. The chef is a man that recently worked in Kenya. He did the same thing there I am told. He smashed plates and wine glasses in the face of these workers. He has an anger problem. He’s ridiculous. Fire him
He needs to be bagged and beaten
They need to understand that we are all equal. We. Cannot continue to have these people treat us like shit
He needs to be tortured
