A driver was hospitalized this morning after his SUV veered off course on Newgate Street, colliding with and breaking a wooden utility pole just outside Hao Hao Supermarket.
The impact sent the Suzuki Grand Vitara careening onto the sidewalk, where it came to a halt just inches from the supermarket’s entrance, narrowly avoiding significant damage to the storefront.
Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the crash.
