APUA Water Division Operating at a Loss

You can now listen to Antigua News articles!

The APUA reiterated that the Water Division operates as a “loss leader,” meaning it does not generate a profit. In 2024, the total subsidy provided was $27 million.

At some point, there are plans to increase revenue from water services.

The Cabinet received a report on the Sembcorp Plant, which is now 27 years old, and noted that the abandoned Tango Plant is being dismantled.

Additionally, number portability is currently in the testing phase and will soon be available to consumers who wish to switch carriers without losing their current phone numbers.
