Taeco ‘Psycho’ Ogarro receiving the Ricardo Drue Foundation ‘Bright Spark’ award

The Ricardo Drue Foundation celebrated emerging talent at the National Music Awards last night, presenting Taeco ‘Psycho’ Ogarro with a special recognition.

“Honoring the next generation of musical excellence, the Ricardo Drue Foundation proudly recognizes an artist who embodies promise, dedication, and passion for their craft,” the foundation announced on social media.

They selected Psycho, “whose talent and commitment continue to shine,” as the recipient of their Bright Spark Award.

The late Ricardo Drue’s mother and brother presented the award.

Caught off guard by the recognition, Psycho shared his response on social media: “I’m grateful for this award and I appreciate the acknowledgment from the Ricardo Drue Foundation as well as the love from all my supporters.”

The honoured artist has already made his mark on the Soca scene, achieving success with his collaboration ‘Let it rain,’ performed with Empress and Soca Villain. The track earned both the Soca Monarch title and tied for Road March in 2023.
