The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services says wind gusts of up to 43 miles per hour are forecast for Antigua and Barbuda between Wednesday morning and Friday night of this week.
Director of the Met Office, Dale Destin has issued a high wind advisory for the period, citing a tightening pressure gradient as the reason for the gusty conditions.
Residents are being urged to secure loose, light outdoor items which can be blown away
Destin also urges caution when driving and says residents should avoid elevated places.
The winds will be from the east at 28 to 44 km/h (20 to 30 mph), with strong gale-force gusts to 68 km/h (43 mph).
The Met office says the high winds will be felt particularly over coastal waters, elevated and open terrains, as well as on the windward side of the islands.
