Victor Emmanuel McKay Sr., a man of many titles and diverse accomplishments, left an indelible mark on those who knew him.
His multifaceted career spanned various roles including clerk, insurance agent, supermarket owner, driving instructor, newspaper editor, and even senator. Yet, amid all these roles, his greatest pride came from being a devoted father and grandfather.

At his official funeral held at St John’s Cathedral, his granddaughter, Joelle Edwards, delivered an emotional Eulogy that captured the essence of McKay’s spirit.
With a mixture of joy and sadness, she recalled the countless cherished moments spent with him, highlighting his unique ability to bring laughter into their lives.
Numerous dignitaries, including Governor General Sir Rodney Williams and Prime Minister Gaston Browne, were present to honor McKay.

His political journey began when he was elected in 1971 as a Member of Parliament for St Mary’s South, symbolizing his commitment to public service
McKay was laid to rest in the St John’s Public Cemetery, he left behind a legacy far richer than his achievements.
