Member of Parliament for St Peter Rawdon Turner
Rawdon Turner, the newly elected Parliamentary Representative for St. Peter, took his Oath of Allegiance this morning in Parliament.
His victory in the January 14 by-election came in the wake of the tragic death of Asot Michael, who was brutally murdered in early November.
Turner is attending his first meeting of the House of Representatives, a significant milestone in his political journey.
In addition to his parliamentary duties, he has been appointed as the Minister of Social and Urban Transformation, where he will oversee initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life in urban areas and addressing social issues within the community.
Meanwhile Turner said he was a product of the village emphasizing his strong ties to the community of St. Peter and his dedication to representing those who influenced his upbringing.
He reflected on his childhood dreams, recalling, “I used to tell myself, one day I’m going to be in that photo” after watching ministers pose following the Throne Speech.
With his recent election as MP following his Senate appointment in 2023, he expressed that this dream has now become a reality.
Turner also took a moment to thank Prime Minister Gaston Browne for the opportunity to serve within the government and for trusting him enough to run in St Peter.
Future prime minister and leader for which country???…so what about Mr. Green and Mr. Benjamin ???.
I’m quite certain his dream did in fact come true at the expenses of Asot death.
The conspiracy theorists have been wagging their tongues
