Employees from three government agencies remain home today for a third consecutive day after they could not enter their workplace, a government-rented building since Monday.
When staff reported for duty on Monday they found the facility, owned by the Ryan Group of Companies, secured with a large padlock on the gates.
The building is owned by the Ryan Group of Companies.
Paul Ryan told Antigua.news, “The locked out continues. The Ministry of Finance and the Public Works Department are trying to come to a solution”
According to Ryan, the access denial stems from the government’s unpaid rent of more than $8M, which has led to the current predicament for those working within the premises.
This building is critical, as it houses the Bureau of Standards, the Ministry of Works Project Implementation Unit, and various Survey Departments.
Oh Lord. So while government collecting funds from people that owe them they negligent on their rent payment.
I strongly believe all government agencies should be housed in one building.
I hope they can come to a resolution soon. I’m sure the workers happy for the little break
I thought they said they had a building ear marked and it was being retrofitted and upgraded and bla bla bla b.s. as usual
Time to get the Can’t Park put to good use!
These things shouldn’t happen
And keep it that way. Don’t allow them back in the building until you get paid.
People like Ryan benefits from the goebrmenr tremendously..they shouldn’t have done that
