Residents and frequent travelers to Antigua and Barbuda have embraced the recent launch of a modern Arrival and Departure System, designed to streamline the travel process at V.C. Bird International Airport.

The new system, accessible at ArriveAntigua.com, offers a user-friendly online platform that significantly enhances the visitor experience.

This initiative is a collaborative effort led by the Antigua and Barbuda Ministry of Tourism, alongside the Civil Aviation, Transportation and Investment departments, with support from the Antigua Department of Immigration and the Antigua and Barbuda Customs and Excise Division.

Feedback from travelers has been overwhelmingly positive. A woman arriving from the UK with her family expressed satisfaction, stating, “It was easy, no pen, no paper, quicker immigration process. We are happy.”

Charles Fernandez, Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Transportation, emphasized the importance of improving the visitor experience.

“We are committed to continuously enhancing the experience in Antigua and Barbuda. The launch of ArriveAntigua.com is a major step in creating a smooth and seamless experience from the moment visitors arrive, allowing them to enjoy our 365 stunning beaches instead of spending excessive time in the terminal,” he said.

Key features of the ArriveAntigua.com system include a simple interface that requires no app download, automatic passport scanning for easy data entry, and a brief questionnaire for customs declarations.

Travelers completing the online form within 72 hours of their flight receive a QR code that simplifies the process at Immigration and Customs, ensuring fast and efficient arrival and departure.

To take advantage of this new system, travelers are encouraged to visit ArriveAntigua.com before their journey. The system is set to further expand in the near future to accommodate seaport arrivals and private jet passengers at Fixed Base Operators (FBO) across Antigua and Barbuda.

This new initiative marks a significant advancement in travel efficiency, promising to enhance the overall experience for visitors to this beautiful Caribbean destination.

  4. Great! Always welcome progress. However, what happens to older fox who don’t use a computer or have a phone? Thinking of my own mother who comes to Antigua every year for the past 30 odd years and who is now 92.
How this will work for her? Hopefully the GVT thought of the elderly and will provide staff to help them with the digital process for their arrival?
    Just thinking!
