National cyclist Jomari King, who was recently involved in a hit-and-run incident, is on the road to recovery and has been discharged from the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center.

After undergoing thorough scans, it was a relief to learn that he suffered no broken bones or serious internal injuries. Instead, he has only some cuts and bruises, which speaks volumes to his resilience.

Jomari’s father, Omari King, shared the family’s gratitude with Observer media.

He mentioned that while his son experienced significant pain, the news from the doctors provided a glimmer of hope.

“Everything has come up with no broken bones. He is in pain; couldn’t really walk out, so we had to put him in a wheelchair,” he explained.

The community came together to support Jomari and his family during this challenging time. Onlookers who witnessed the incident took swift action by recording the vehicle’s registration number, which has been crucial in aiding the police investigation.

Despite the pain he’s going through, Jomari’s spirit remains unbroken, reflecting the determination and strength of young athletes.

He’s looking forward to healing and returning to what he loves most—cycling.

  2. I am not saying the motorist is right, but Them cyclists need to learn they are not vehicles. They want to be ride side by side and sometimes even in the middle of the road. There should also be some form of punishment for them

    • The bikers not cyclist, you’re seeing in the middle of the road and riding crazy are the little ghetto boys and Man who feel they can do what they want on the road! When it comes to cyclist they know the hazards of the roads and keep on their right side! These drivers are just reckless and don’t care. If the driver knew he was in the right he wouldn’t have fled the scene! So it means he was in the wrong.

  5. This makes me wonder why Andre couldn’t have pulled through like this young man. But God knows best! I’m just happy that it wasn’t his last ride! God is good!!

    • It’s natural to wonder why outcomes differ for people we care about, especially when someone else seems to make it through a similar struggle. But you’re right, sometimes all we can do is trust that God knows what we don’t, and be grateful for the mercies we do see. The fact that it wasn’t his last ride is no small thing. That alone is worth giving thanks for.

  6. Joy for Jomari, but a moment of pause for Andre Simon and others who weren’t so lucky. Every name should move us closer to real change.
