Tranquility Park Cemetery to Be Officially Opened Next Week
Antigua and Barbuda’s newest burial ground, Tranquility Park Cemetery, will be officially opened with a dedication service this Thursday after its original June opening was postponed.
The Cabinet has announced that the Ministry of Health, Wellness, the Environment, and Civil Service Affairs will collaborate with the Ecclesiastical Commission to host the dedication ceremony on July 17th at 4:00 p.m. along the Sir Sidney Walling Highway.
The cemetery was originally scheduled to open on June 16th, however that opening did not proceed for undisclosed reasons.
The new Tranquility Park Cemetery has been constructed to help reduce pressure on the St. John’s Public Cemetery. The facility will feature uniform and tidy graves along with a non-denominational chapel for services.
