Call it a three-peat!

Ruez Titre stage name ‘Ruez’ was crowned the 2025 UWI Five Islands Campus Junior Calypso Monarch in the 13-19 age category.

It is the third consecutive victory for Ruez having won the crown in 2023, 2024 and now 2025.

This year he had to fend off 11 other competitors in what many considered a competitive field at the Antigua Recreation Grounds (ARG).

Titre also walked away with a cash prize of $2100 and the awards for Best Stage Performer and the Most Helpful Calypsonian.

Lena Mills ‘Calypso Lilly was 1st runner up. She received a $1800 cash prize along with the award for the Most Improved Calypsonian in that section.

Best New Artiste Kalique Alleyne ‘Kaiso Kal was 2nd runner up. He earned $1500.

Mandela Ango Anyandjuh De Boss also received an award for the Most Punctual Calypsonian.

Meanwhile in the 5-12 section, Jaedah Baird, stage name ‘Sweet Melodyemerged as the winner in that section, with the song “It’s Not Everyday”, dethroning Princess Faith, the 2024 monarch.

Faith Edwards aka Princess Faith singing “My Calypso” still made it into the winner’s circle, finishing 2nd runner up while 1st runner up went to Tarique Benjamin, stage name-De Archer with the song “Education”.

Baird walked away with a cash prize of $2100 and the awards for Best New Artiste and Best Stage Performer.

Benjamin who was named the Most Improved also received $1800 and Edwards, $1500.

The Leadership award went to Shemon Martin ‘Red Juice’.

Brijae Williamson ‘Queen B’ also was named the Most Improved.

Eleven calypsonians competed in this category.

All the participants in both sections also received a monetary token as well.

The young calypsonians lit up the stage with passion, power, and purpose, proudly delivering original songs that reflect their voices and dreams.

From messages of hope and unity to tributes to Carnival and education, they brought the fire and left their mark.
