Micheal Joseph, ABLP caretaker for the Graysfarm and Greenbay communities
Micheal Joseph, the caretaker for the Graysfarm and Greenbay communities, has raised alarm over a troubling trend in the area: the recruitment of minors by grown men to engage in criminal activities.
This development has sparked concerns about the safety and well-being of young people in the community.
In recent months, the region has seen a surge in criminal incidents, including theft, murder, aggravated robbery, and other illegal activities.
According to Joseph, these serious crimes are often centered around the very neighborhoods where children and teens live, exposing them to significant risks.
“This is a pattern we’ve started to observe,” Joseph said in an interview with Antigua.news
“Grown men are taking advantage of vulnerable minors, drawing them into a world of crime that can have devastating consequences for their lives and the community as a whole.”
Community members have echoed Joseph’s concerns, emphasizing that preventing the exploitation of minors requires a collective effort.
He said parents, educators, and local leaders must work together to provide young people with positive alternatives and support systems to deter them from falling into the trap of criminal activities.
Authorities have been urged to take a stronger stance against those who manipulate and recruit minors, with calls for more proactive policing and community outreach programs to help support at-risk youth.
As the community grapples with these challenges, both leaders and residents are hopeful that by coming together, they can create a safer environment for future generations.
The urgency of the situation cannot be overstated, and the fate of many young lives hangs in the balance as the community seeks solutions to break this cycle of crime and exploitation.

Some of the parents are the cause also ……alot of them want to be “young nd free so bad ” nd sometime u go nd make a report they reply ” me cya badda” nd then u turn they say oh tf she a come to me for !!!! Its sick and a shame not onlii in grays green but also in Cashew hill these kids are raising themselves
Very true Starlight. Alot of the parent are very immature mentally.
Mr/ Ms. Editor,
Can We NOT SEE???
THIS Is PARTLY the Result of An Uncaring Government Administration HUFFING The COMMUNITY CENTER BUILT FOR THE NEEDS OF THE YOUTH THIS AREA !!!
Can we put the FACTS On the Table?
The Youth of GRAYS-GREEN have NEVER seen the INSDE OF THIS BUILDING Specifically built for THEIR Development!!!
….. An UNCARING ADMINISTRATION saw it fit to Use what was GIFTED TO THE YOUTH OF THIS AREA as A COURT HOUSE FOR YEARS!!!!
It has not even been FIXED to date ….The MESS that THE BUILDING has been left in when the Magistrate’s Court Moved Back to its former Address Still EXISTS……
Mr. Junior Minister you can THANK YOUR SENIORS IN The Government Administration for THIS DEBACLE which NOW faces the Grays-Green Community!!!!
Try to CORRECT THIS ERROR AS QUICKLY as Possible …. The Damaged caused will take 3 to 5 years, if not Longer to CORRECT …… YOU have NO FEELINGS for OUR YOUTH …. Actions Speak LOUDER Than Words, Sir ……
I guess these old men didnt learn from past experiences themselves. they are a dying breed. leave people children alone
So WORLD BOSS is gonna have to step in in order for the community center to be used to help the youth? Clean up the mess and use the facility as it was intended for crying out loud! And parents need to be taught parenting skills too since most of them haven’t clue.
This isn’t a problem for one ministry alone. The government must launch a coordinated response involving police, social services, and education. The future of Antigua depends on us saving our youth from the clutches of criminal elements.
