LETTER: Call for Transparency Following Tragic Death of Huneka Benjamin

Huneka Benjamin tragically passed away after a severe traffic accident on Old Parham Road

I am writing to express my concern over the public’s lack of information following the tragic death of Huneka Benjamin in a traffic collision on Old Parham Road near the CIBC First Caribbean Bank.

This unfortunate event has deeply affected her family, friends and loved ones and it raises important questions about the transparency of the investigation currently underway.

While we understand that investigations take time and that authorities must proceed carefully, the seeming secrecy surrounding the circumstances of the crash is troubling.

The public was given no information about the other driver and or their health condition or whether they would be charged for dangerous driving. We were not even privy to the name. It is almost like the police feeds the public whats suits them.

The shockwaves felt throughout the entire country following her death should compel us to demand more than just initial reports.

We owe it to her memory and her grieving family to seek transparency regarding the investigation’s progress and findings.

I urge the authorities to keep the public informed and engaged, as transparency can only lead to a stronger, safer community.

Let us not wait in silence; instead, let us voice our demand for clarity and accountability.

A concerned friend

  1. A very touching letter if you may ask me. I’ve heard so many rumors but the police went hush about the tragic situation. Huneka was a friend, a sister, a daughter. What’s going on with the investigation? Is everyone getting of Scott free

  2. I have repeatedly thought about this entire situation and did indeed think this to be some kinda cover up. The other driver was seems blatantly speeding all over in the days prior and almost causing accidents many places. Was he someone n authority’s child, minister, public figure or even prospective lodge member? This is really fishy!!!!

    • Rumor has it that she was the driver of the vehicle she was in. The driver fled the scene.

  3. We need to be kept updated. This was the tragic death of someone who’s known. It’s crazy how they keep things private

  4. That’s true. We never hear anything about who was driving the other vehicle. I even heard the person was on the run don’t know how true that is.
But more needs to be said about this for real

  5. This is a mistery of two unknown drivers, the one driving her and the one that collided with her car.Are they trying to figure out how they going to sweep this under the carpet or are they looking for a fall guy.

  7. My deepest condolences go out to Huneka Benjamin’s family and friends. It’s a tragic loss. I fully support the call for transparency. When a young life is lost under such circumstances, the public has a right to know that the investigation is being handled thoroughly and without bias.
