MP Richard Lewis hosts 9th Annual Back-to-School Supplies Initiative

Member of Parliament for St. John’s Rural West, Richard Lewis, recently hosted a back to school supplies initiative, giving packages to over 700 students in his constituency. Supplies included backpacks, compositions books, writing utensils and many other items that schoolchildren would require.

The MP was grateful for the help he received to make this initiative possible, thanking family, friends, and donors for their contributions.

I am grateful for the donations from my siblings: Stafford Lewis, Auckland Lewis, and Maria Sharon Martin. Thank you to Tenice & Allie Enterprise and others for their assistance. Thank you to those who helped to distribute the packages”, said Lewis.

This is the 9th year that the MP has delivered on such an initiative, as he remains grateful for the opportunity to give back to his community, especially those that are in need. He also underscored the importance of education when it comes to nation building and future social prosperity.

“The education of our children is critical to the development of our nation. I am happy to play my part in ensuring that our children have the essential supplies for a successful academic year”, stated Lewis.
