Special awards were presented during the ceremony, with Dr. Alicia Rouse capturing both the Patient Care and Compassion Award and the coveted Intern of the Year Award. Other honorees included Dr. Michelle Jeffrey (Clinical Excellence), Dr. Neejah Crump (Leadership and Team Spirit), Dr. Prince Lee (Most Improved), and Dr. Alex Kelsick (Spirit of Service).

SLBMC also recognized outstanding mentorship and teaching, with honors going to Dr. Vonetta George, the Paediatrics Team, and Dr. Samora Goodwin.

  6. Good achievement, but the bigger question is: will these doctors actually stay here to serve, or will they migrate as soon as they get experience? Retention is just as important as graduation.
