A Villa man has been arrested and charged in connection with a string of larcenies and the receipt of stolen property valued at more than $44,000.

Police on Wednesday confirmed that Brandon Murphy of Villa is accused of targeting a storage facility between August and September this year. Among the items reported stolen were six deep freezers, a power washer, 20 five-gallon tins of paint, a generator, several power tools, and other household appliances.

Murphy is now facing multiple counts of larceny and receiving stolen property. He is expected to make his first court appearance in the coming days to answer to the charges.

Investigators are appealing to members of the public who may have additional information to assist with the case. Anyone with relevant details is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or call Crimestoppers anonymously at 800-TIPS (8477).

  1. What I sometimes wonder is if these people have loved ones and family who have homes. What if someone did that to the home of one of their family. $44,000 worth of items is a serious loss. Glad the police acted quickly, but I hope the victims can recover some of their property
