The man wanted by police in connection with an attempted robbery at a convenience store in St. John’s has surrendered to authorities.

Police have confirmed that 19-year-old Elahim Bloodman of Grays Farm turned himself in to officers at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on Tuesday morning, accompanied by family members. He is currently in custody assisting with the ongoing investigation.

The incident occurred around 9:54 a.m. when a lone male entered a store armed with what appeared to be a firearm. The quick-thinking store owner triggered an alarm, prompting the suspect to flee on foot along New Street before police arrived.

In a statement, the Police Administration thanked members of the public and the media for their cooperation and assistance, which they said played a vital role in advancing the investigation.

Authorities are again urging residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activity or individuals by contacting the CID at 462-3913, dialing 911, or visiting the nearest police station.

  3. Surrendering was smart. Running only makes things worse. Hopefully the court shows fairness if he’s truly remorseful.
