PM Browne Hails Dominican Spirit at 25th Creole Music Festival

Prime Minister Gaston Browne joined Dominicans this weekend in marking the silver anniversary of the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF), one of the Caribbean’s premier cultural events.

Browne, who traveled to Dominica for the three-day celebration, was seen mingling with patrons and regional dignitaries, including Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel. A photo circulating on social media captured the three together—symbolizing the fusion of politics, culture, and Caribbean unity that the festival embodies.

In a brief message shared during his visit, Browne expressed his admiration for the spirit of the Dominican people:
“It was a pleasure celebrating with our Dominican peeps, the silver anniversary of their World Music Festival. May God continue to guide the advancement of the Dominican people,” Browne tells Antigua.news.

The 25th edition of the World Creole Music Festival, which concludes today, drew thousands of music lovers from across the region and the diaspora. The event featured a dynamic lineup of international and regional acts, blending traditional Creole rhythms with modern Caribbean sounds.

Over the years, the Antiguan leader has been a frequent presence at regional festivals, often highlighting the shared heritage that binds Caribbean nations together.

As the curtains fall on Dominica’s milestone festival tonight, the mood remains one of celebration and pride—marking 25 years of Creole rhythm, resilience, and regional connection.
