A Fort Road resident is fighting for his life after being ambushed and shot multiple times outside his home early Friday morning.

Louis Armstrong Jr was rushed to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre with severe injuries after unknown assailants opened fire, striking him in the face and upper torso. Medical officials say Armstrong Jr suffered major blood loss and remains in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where he is under close supervision.

Police have launched an investigation into the shooting and are urging anyone with information to come forward. Officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) can be reached at 462-3913 or 462-3914, and anonymous tips may be submitted via the TIPS Hotline at 800-TIPS (800-8477).

Authorities have provided no further details about the suspects or a possible motive, but the investigation remains active.
