Festivals Commission announces postponement of Antigua Carnival 2026 Launch

The Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission (ABFC) has announced the postponement of the official launch for Antigua Carnival 2026.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Commission said the launch event, which was set for Saturday, April 11 at the Rising Sun Grounds, will no longer take place as scheduled.

According to the ABFC, the decision was made due to scheduling conflicts and other significant activities taking place during the same period.

A new date for the highly anticipated launch is expected to be announced soon.

The Commission thanked the public for its continued support and encouraged patrons to stay connected through its official platforms for updates.

Officials also urged the public to continue embracing the spirit of Carnival under this year’s theme, “Feel the Rhythm,” as preparations continue for what is expected to be another vibrant season of festivities.

  1. Slight setback, but hopefully they use the extra time to really deliver something memorable.

  2. I understand that scheduling conflicts happen, but this is Carnival we’re talking about. The launch sets the tone for the entire season, so when it gets postponed like this, it does feel a bit disappointing. At the same time, I’d rather they take the extra time and do it properly than rush something that doesn’t reflect the energy Carnival deserves.
