Two men are now on remand at His Majesty’s Prison after being brought before the court on serious firearm and ammunition charges.

Orian Carr, 26, of Pares Village, and Djarie Sheppard, 25, of Willikies, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel on Tuesday, where they were denied bail and remanded until April 28, 2026.

The pair faces multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and fraudulent use of a license plate.

Police allege that the men were found with a Hi-Point C9 9mm Luger pistol along with seven matching rounds of ammunition during an early morning operation over the weekend.

According to investigators, shortly before 1 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, officers attached to the Willikies Police Station were conducting mobile patrols along Willikies Main Road when they observed a blue Honda Fit travelling without a front number plate.

The vehicle was stopped and searched in the presence of both occupants. During the search, officers reportedly uncovered the firearm and ammunition inside the car.

Both men were taken into custody at the scene. The weapon and ammunition were seized as part of the investigation, which has since resulted in formal charges.

They are expected to return to court later this month as the matter moves forward.
