Gaston Browne has been officially sworn in as Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, securing a new term in office following his party’s landslide victory in Thursday’s general elections.

Browne took the oath of office during a formal ceremony on Friday morning, reaffirming his leadership of the country after receiving a decisive mandate from the electorate.

Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs Steadroy Benjamin was also sworn in, resuming his role within the Cabinet as one of the government’s most senior legal officials.

The ceremony marks the official start of the new administration, with both men pledging to continue advancing the government’s agenda in the interest of national development.
Other Cabinet ministers are expected to be sworn in later this week, as the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) moves swiftly to fully reconstitute its governing team following its commanding performance at the polls.
