23-year-old Nathaniel Santana of Hatton, Gray’s Farm has been remanded to prison after appearing in court on multiple charges stemming from a shooting incident along Queen Elizabeth Highway.

Santana appeared before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel in the St. John’s Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, where he was charged with Shooting with Intent to Murder, Discharging a Firearm in a Public Place, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

The charges relate to an incident that allegedly occurred on Sunday, April 26, during which police said Santana unlawfully and maliciously shot at a 32-year-old man from Gray’s Farm.

Details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting have not yet been disclosed by investigators.

Following the hearing, the magistrate remanded Santana to His Majesty’s Prison. The matter was adjourned until June 18, 2026.

Police said investigations into the incident are continuing.
