The National Youth Parliament Association of Antigua and Barbuda has congratulated Shaquan O’Neil following his appointment as a Government Senator, describing the move as a proud and historic moment for youth representation in the country.
In a statement issued on Friday, the organization said O’Neil now holds the distinction of being the youngest Senator in the history of Antigua and Barbuda.
“On behalf of the Executive and General Assembly of the National Youth Parliament of Antigua and Barbuda, we would love to congratulate our member Shaquan O’Neil on being appointed as a Government Senator today,” the statement said.
The association praised O’Neil’s dedication to youth development and public service, noting that he has consistently demonstrated leadership, talent, and a strong passion for serving young people across the twin-island nation.
“Shaquan has always shown tremendous talent and a passion to serve the youth, so we know the right choice was made,” the organization added.
The National Youth Parliament Association also expressed confidence that Senator O’Neil will continue to make meaningful contributions in his new role in the Upper House of Parliament.
“We are eagerly looking forward to the continued contributions you will make in this new capacity,” the statement concluded.
O’Neil was among 10 Government Senators sworn in on Friday during a ceremony at Government House officiated by Governor General Sir Rodney Williams.
