Minister Michael Joseph Visits Scene of Fatal Road Accident
Minister of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs, Michael Joseph visited the scene of a fatal road accident along All Saints Road on Tuesday morning, where a beautification worker contracted by the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) lost his life.
The minister, who has responsibility for the NSWMA, met with grieving family members at the scene and offered condolences to the relatives, friends, and co-workers of the deceased.
The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the community and renewed concerns about the safety of roadside workers who carry out duties in close proximity to moving traffic.
Speaking following the visit, Minister Joseph appealed to motorists to exercise greater caution and responsibility while using the nation’s roadways.
He stressed the importance of remaining alert, particularly in areas where workers are engaged in roadside maintenance and beautification activities.
He noted that incidents like these are a painful reminder of the dangers faced by workers on public roads and underscored the need for patience, vigilance, and respect from all road users.
Authorities have not yet released additional details surrounding the circumstances of the fatality.
