Liberta Resident Raises Concern After Reporting Armed Woman Twice to Police

15 June 2026 - 07:59

A concerned resident is calling for urgent action after reporting a woman carrying a large knife in two separate incidents on Friday, claiming that police failed to properly document either report.

The resident said that shortly before 9 a.m., while driving through  Liberta after leaving home in Falmouth, they observed a woman wearing a bikini top and jeans holding what was described as a large knife.

According to the resident, the woman appeared angry or disturbed and was standing on a patch of land adjacent to Mama Dupes, a fruit and vegetable stand that was open for business at the time.

Concerned for public safety, the individual said they immediately went to the Liberta Police Station to report the matter. However, they claim that while an officer took their name and telephone number, no written report appeared to have been made.

A few hours later, shortly before midday, the resident said they encountered the same woman near the entrance to All Saints after descending Clarks Hill.

The situation had reportedly escalated.

The woman was allegedly seen throwing a hubcap across the roadway while traffic was passing and was still carrying the same large knife in plain view.

The resident then contacted emergency services by calling 911 and was transferred to the All Saints Police Station, where directions to the woman’s location were provided.

Following that call, the individual returned to the Liberta Police Station to update officers about the second sighting. According to the resident, a different shift was on duty at the time.

The resident alleges that once again no notes were taken and that the officer did not ask for their name or any additional details regarding the report.

The claims have not been independently verified, and it is unclear whether police subsequently located or spoke with the woman.

The resident said they have decided to bring the matter to the attention of the media because of concerns that a potentially dangerous situation may not have received the level of urgency they believe it warranted.
