Island-Wide Cctv Surveillance System Set For Rollout Within Two Months As Equipment Nears Arrival

Camera system near completion

Attorney General and Minister for Public Safety Sir Steadroy Benjamin updated Cabinet on the national CCTV surveillance programme.

Forty-two strategic locations have now been identified across Antigua and Barbuda for high-definition surveillance cameras, with installation expected to be completed by the final week of August.

Once operational, the system will be integrated into the Royal Police Force’s security infrastructure to assist crime prevention, investigations, traffic management and emergency response.

Cabinet reaffirmed its commitment to modernizing policing through greater use of technology.

  1. Great news!
Anything that can help the safety of others has to be worth the investment.
As a single female living alone, l am also hoping that this system will be eventually installed in villages, especially those which have next to no street lighting.
