The Ministry of Social and Urban Transformation has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Youth Education and Empowerment Programme (YEEP) participant Kerrianne Eubanks, while also calling for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her passing.
Eubanks, a 45-year-old mother of two from Bendals, died after spending more than six weeks in hospital receiving treatment for serious injuries.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Ministry said it joined the Department of Youth Education and Empowerment Programme in mourning the loss of a former student who had been part of an initiative focused on education, skills training and personal development.
The Ministry described Eubanks’ death as a tragic loss for the YEEP family and extended heartfelt condolences to her children, relatives, friends, former classmates, instructors and all those whose lives she impacted.
“We pray that her loved ones will find strength and comfort as they navigate this incredibly difficult period,” the statement said.
While offering its sympathies, the Ministry also expressed solidarity with Eubanks’ family and the wider community by calling for a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances of her death.
Officials said they hope the investigation will provide her loved ones with the answers they deserve and ensure that justice is served.
The Ministry concluded its tribute by honouring Eubanks’ memory, wishing her eternal peace as the nation reflects on her life and tragic passing.

They need to have been on this from day one. The trail maybe cold but a good investigator would be able to get close enough to the facts of this horrific incident .
