Australian Billionaire Andrew Forrest

Australian billionaire and mining magnate Dr Andrew “Twiggy” Forrest is among the high-profile international business leaders confirmed to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Antigua and Barbuda this November.

Forrest is the founder and Executive Chairman of Fortescue, the Australian resources giant he established in 2003. He has become one of Australia’s most prominent business figures, building Fortescue into a major global iron ore producer while increasingly focusing on renewable energy and green technology.

The billionaire businessman is also widely known for his philanthropic work and advocacy on issues including climate change, modern slavery and sustainable development.

Forrest will be joined at CHOGM by prominent UK entrepreneur and philanthropist Sir David Harrison, founder of the Harrison Foundation.

CHOGM Planning Committee member Carlon Knight said registrations continue to increase, with growing participation from the business community.

According to Knight, interest is also coming from investors and capital providers who are exploring business and investment opportunities across Antigua and Barbuda and the wider Commonwealth and Caribbean region.

The participation of major international business figures is expected to add another dimension to CHOGM 2026, creating opportunities for networking, investment discussions and potential partnerships alongside the meeting’s high-level governmental engagements.

Antigua and Barbuda will host CHOGM in November, bringing together Commonwealth leaders, government officials, business executives and other international stakeholders.
