A man was rushed to hospital Thursday night after being shot in the leg on Lower All Saints Road.

The shooting occurred at around 9:30 p.m., with a business proprietor in the area reporting that two gunshots were heard.

Moments later, the injured man was reportedly seen heading in the direction of the Public Market before Emergency Medical Services arrived and transported him to hospital for treatment.

Reports indicate that a lone gunman fired the shots. It remains unclear what led to the shooting or whether the victim was specifically targeted.

Police were quickly called to the area and began investigations into the incident.

The condition of the injured man was not immediately known.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or has information that could help identify the gunman to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or 462-3914.

Investigations are continuing.

  2. It seems that the Wild Wild West is creeping into our beautiful country among our youths. I hope with the police force and the defense force we have a James West and Artemus Gordon to put this gun violence under control. Our tourism season will be opening in three months. Get the fathers for these young men into a meeting. The mothers can do so much but fathers need to step to the plate. Lord Jesus, please help Antigua and Barbuda!
