Passengers travelling with LIAT Air this weekend are being advised to check their flight status after the airline announced further schedule changes stemming from operational disruptions that began on Friday.
In a customer advisory issued on Saturday, the regional carrier said the challenges experienced the previous day had continued to affect its operations, forcing adjustments to flights scheduled for Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
While the airline did not disclose the cause of the disruptions, it acknowledged the inconvenience to passengers and apologised to those whose travel plans have been affected.
The airline said its teams are working to minimise further disruption and restore normal operations as quickly as possible.
“We understand the inconvenience these changes may cause and sincerely apologise to our customers who may be affected,” LIAT Air said.
LIAT has released an updated schedule for Sunday, August 9, with flights operating through its Antigua hub to several destinations across the Caribbean, including Georgetown, Port of Spain, Barbados, St. Kitts, St. Maarten, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent, Dominica, Pointe-à-Pitre and Punta Cana.
The revised timetable begins with an early morning service from Grenada to Antigua and continues throughout the day, with the final scheduled departure leaving Antigua for Georgetown at 8:15 p.m.
The airline is urging affected passengers to contact its Customer Experience Centre at 1 (268) 713-5428 for assistance and to keep an eye on its official social media pages for further updates as the situation develops.
The latest disruptions come during one of the busiest periods of the year for regional travel, when many Caribbean residents are flying between islands for summer holidays, family visits and business.
LIAT thanked customers for their patience and understanding as it works to return its operations to normal.
