PRESS RELEASE

As the curtains close on Carnival 2026 and the Steelpan fraternity readies itself to celebrate another World Steelpan Day, Halcyon Steel Orchestra reflects with gratitude on another memorable season of music, culture, and national celebration. In keeping with our proud 55-year history, Halcyon was honored to once again contribute to the success of Antigua and Barbuda’s premier festival.

While the Panorama results were not the outcome we had hoped for, we remain proud our performance and the commitment displayed by every member of the Halcyon family. Above all, Pan in Antigua and by extension, Carnival 2026 was the true winner.

We extend heartfelt congratulations to every steel orchestra that participated in the spectacular “Great Showdown” at Carnival City on Saturday, 1 August 2026. We offer special congratulations to CUB Hells Gate Steel Orchestra on securing an unprecedented seventh consecutive Panorama Championship, and to West Indies Oil Company Gemonites Steel Orchestra on earning second place. We are also grateful to have maintained our third place standing from the previous year.

As we bring Carnival 2026 to a close, Halcyon Steel Orchestra expresses its sincere appreciation to the many individuals and organizations whose generosity and support made our participation possible.
