Local artiste Alline Henry, better known to fans as Royalty, will take the stage in Toronto, Canada this weekend as the opening act for Jamaican dancehall star Future Fambo, marking another highlight in what has been a standout year for the Antiguan performer.

The show is scheduled for August 29th, and comes on the heels of a string of successes that have raised Henry’s profile well beyond Antigua’s shores. In June, she won the WYFL DJ Mac talent competition in Toronto, beating out a strong field of competitors to land both a recording contract and an official signing with DJ Mac. That same month, she also opened for fellow DJ Mac artist Tielo Lanez, one of several appearances that have helped grow her following abroad.

Her upcoming performance alongside Future Fambo is expected to bring even more attention her way. The Jamaican artist is currently riding a wave of popularity thanks to “Red Light, Pepper Light,” a sound that went viral on TikTok and other social media platforms before being turned into an official single. Fambo is also known for his hit “Rum and Red Bull.”

Henry’s career has taken her far beyond Antigua in recent years, with performances in Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, the United States and England, and now Canada. Though she has found success in dancehall, she says soca remains close to her heart, and she plans to keep performing in both genres.

The singer, who is also a mother of two, says her recent achievements reflect years of effort spent juggling her music career, her family life, and her business interests.
