Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party headquarters
The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party headquarters is being considered as a temporary teaching venue for the new law programme at The University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne said the programme enrolled about 65 students after receiving more than 100 applications and now requires a large, centrally located conference facility.
He stressed that any use of the party’s People’s Place headquarters would not involve political activity. The approximately 5,000-square-foot facility could be rented for a token sum and may avoid the need for government to spend close to US$1 million on large temporary tents.
Browne described the party facility as a possible last resort because of its political association and said he would discuss the proposal with the relevant committee.
He also floated the possibility of installing a retractable canopy outside the headquarters to expand its capacity.
But Cory Wayland we have been using that venue for a few weeks now. How PM now saying he considering it? That Gaston not easy!
That is a great initiative. Let us be holy they have a place. I always thought that big building was a waste of money for just once in a while labour events. Now we can see it is being put into good use
