A cashier was forced to hand over money at gunpoint Tuesday night after a masked robber stormed Brownie’s Bakery in Herbert’s shortly before closing hours.
The frightening encounter, captured on CCTV, unfolded shortly before 8 p.m. as the employee stood behind the counter.
Footage shows a man dressed in red and black, with his face concealed, approaching the counter before producing what appeared to be a handgun and pointing it at the cashier.
With the weapon trained on her, the robber demanded money from the register.
The visibly shaken employee quickly opened the cash register, removed the money and handed it to the gunman.
After taking the cash, the robber fled the bakery. It was not immediately clear how much money was stolen or whether the assailant escaped on foot or using a vehicle.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
Police are investigating the robbery and are appealing to anyone who may recognise the suspect from the CCTV footage or who has information that could assist investigators to come forward.
