King Warrior Named National PTA Parent of the Year

Damian Billy “King Warrior” Tonge’s years of quietly giving his time and resources to support students at Irene B. Williams Secondary School have earned him national recognition, with the entertainer and philanthropist named the National Parent Teachers Association’s Parent of the Year for 2025–2026.

Tonge, widely known by his stage name “King Warrior,” received the honour in recognition of his involvement in the school community and his continued support for programmes benefiting students.

A father of three, Tonge became closely involved with Irene B. Williams Secondary School while his son, Kadame, was a student there, regularly stepping in to assist with activities and initiatives.

His support ranged from donating sound and musical equipment for sporting events, Independence celebrations, graduation ceremonies and other school functions to helping the school’s football programme.

Tonge also sponsored uniforms for the school’s Under-20 football team and pledged to provide Gatorade and water for players throughout the football season.

His involvement, however, did not end when his son graduated from the school.

Tonge has pledged to continue supporting Irene B. Williams Secondary School and its programmes, maintaining that his commitment extends beyond his own child to the wider student body.

Outside of his involvement in education, Tonge has built a name for himself in Antigua and Barbuda’s entertainment industry, performing at local, regional and international events. He has also been involved in philanthropic and community initiatives over the years.

The National PTA recognition highlights his contribution not only as a parent, but as a community partner who has consistently invested in opportunities for young people.

His selection as Parent of the Year for 2025–2026 places a national spotlight on that work and his continued commitment to education, sports and youth development.
