Motorists travelling through Newgate Street and English Harbour are being advised to prepare for traffic changes as road works get underway in both areas from 7 p.m. tonight.

The Ministry of Works says heavy-duty equipment will be operating during the night works, and motorists and other road users should exercise caution while travelling through the affected areas.

Traffic detours will be in place, and road users are being asked to follow the directions of employees controlling traffic at the work sites.

Motorists who have vehicles parked along the affected sections of Newgate Street and English Harbour are also being urged to remove them before the work begins.

The Ministry has asked the public to cooperate with the traffic arrangements while the night works are carried out.
