Climate change, trade and stronger ties between Antigua and Barbuda and Canada were at the centre of discussions between Prime Minister Gaston Browne and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney during a bilateral meeting this morning.

Carney is in Antigua and Barbuda for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), which has brought leaders from across the Commonwealth to the island for discussions on shared priorities and international cooperation.

The meeting between the two leaders provided an opportunity to address issues of mutual interest, including the impact of climate change, trade relations and the importance of closer cooperation between their respective countries.

The discussions come as Antigua and Barbuda continues to engage international partners on matters affecting small island developing states, particularly climate vulnerability, economic resilience and access to opportunities for trade and development.
