Greenaway to Represent Antigua and Barbuda on UN Governance Panel in Baku
The Permanent Secretary will discuss partnerships to improve public service delivery at the UN Governance Innovation Summit.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Social and Urban Transformation, Rosa Greenaway, will represent Antigua and Barbuda at the UN Governance Innovation Summit in Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 5–6.
Held at the Gulustan Palace under the theme “Advancing Future-Ready Institutions,” the summit will bring together ministers and senior officials to examine public service delivery, digital transformation and administrative reform.
Greenaway is scheduled to speak on Friday’s panel, “Strengthening Partnerships for Effective Governance,” alongside officials from Bhutan, Chad, Djibouti, Eswatini and The Gambia. Discussions will explore how governments can work across sectors and adapt successful approaches to meet national needs.
“I look forward to the rich discussion and the sharing of each country’s experience and present situation. I am hoping to get some workable takeaways that can enrich what we already have in Antigua and Barbuda,” Greenaway said.
The summit is jointly organised by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs and Azerbaijan’s State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations. It also responds to the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for Small Island Developing States, which recognises the particular constraints facing small island nations.
Delegates will visit Azerbaijan’s ASAN Service Centre to observe its approach to citizen-centred public services.
Greenaway’s participation supports the ministry’s efforts to strengthen service delivery, particularly for people who depend most on public assistance.
